I added this for shits and giggles. You can see the DR value (Dynamic Range) of various anime and Japanese music by searching.

Dynamic range is basically the difference between the loudest and quietest parts of a song. When the volume is raised, it gets compressed (clipping) , and audio data is lost. Compressing music for a more loud default is a standard popular music practice to better grab your attention in a song and seem better than more "quiet" songs. (read: dynamic) Because working a volume control is too hard, the majority of music is irreversibly fucked.

A DR value below 8 is bad.
Above 12 is good.
14 and above are unaffected by compression entirely.

anison/Anime lossless OP ED IN collection/Arai Masahito - Anime Ja Nai ~Yume o Wasureta Furui Chikyuujin yo~.flac (DR:14)
anison/Anime lossless OP ED IN collection/Arai Masahito - Anime Janai -Yume wo Wasureta Furui Chikyuujin yo-.flac (DR:8)

^ These are two different releases. In general, music gets more loud/compressed with each re-release. The newest mastering isn't always better, and is much worse in many cases.

Here's an example (a famous one) of the Loudness War that's easily audible: >>>/watch?v=6Nfqpr3ygSg

Now you can proclaim your favorite anime song as objectively superior, and fight over whose tastes are masterrace or not.
